Congratulations to Nadav Snir and Roni Eppstein for comleting their project: tuning high resolution frequencies for EPFM.
Adi and Itamar presenting their final-project poster: 3D analysis of ferro-elastic mediated nano-ferroelectric domain switching.
Kosterlitz and Thouless won 2016 Nobel physics prize (shared with Haldane) for their development (in parallel with Berezinskii…) of a very neat mathematical model that describes phase transitions in nano-superconductors near the onset of the phenomenon. The transition in the BKT framework is governed by rather surprising vortex interactions rather than by the usual Cooper-pair dominancy. A nice inspiring boost to this fascinating research field.
